Handy Little Computer and Mobile Screwdriver Set - A Mini Review

The other day I was walking round my local supermarket and as I am always on the lookout for tools and gadgets I don't really need, I decided I would pop down the hardware isle and have a browse. I was not disappointed. I found my latest 'looks like something I don't need but want anyway just in case' tool. I cut my shopping trip short and rushed home to see what I'd spent my money on.

This is a generically branded screwdriver set with mini bits, for all your small gadget maintenance needs. It is definitely a piece of kit worth keeping nearby.

The screwdriver itself is made from plastic and metal with a reasonably grippy rubber around the handle. This particular model has a rather interesting 'double drive' action which means it screws or unscrews twice as fast. For this function to work you need to hold the black metal grip with one hand and turn the handle with the other. This leaves you with no way to hold your device, so that may or may not be an issue depending on your needs.

While it may be nice to have this feature, the screwdriver will most likely be used on small devices which are usually held together with very small and short screws, making the double drive action almost unnecessary. Nevertheless, it is good to have an extra feature you may never need than a feature you might wish it had.

This set comes with four different types of bits for different screw types: flat-head screws, Philips head screws, torx security (or star) head screws and pozi head screws so it should cover most, if not all of your bases making it nice and versatile.

Moving onto the bits, the solid rubber housing has each screw-head size and type clearly marked on it but in case the markings fade, each bit has an engraving of what it is into the side of it as well.

All in all I recommend this or a similar set to anyone who, like me, likes to occasionally dismantle their PS4 (or other console) for a regular cleaning.

I give it a 4 out of 5 slice rating.
