By My Beard - Beard Shampoo and Beard Conditioner & Face Moisturiser Review

By My Beard Shampoo and beard Conditioner & Face Moisturiser

While I may not be the owner of the great and revered Majestic Beard, I do have a beard and after some time my face fuzz has reached the point of requiring both attention and products. Previously we have talked about the essential items to maintain a healthy beard, read this post HERE.

Taking the first leap into beard care is rather an odd one, beard care products are rather "in" at the moment and so having too much choice left me a little lost. Like most choices money often makes the final decision and so I have started with a widely available and affordable option by By My Beard.

I image most people, like me, started by washing their beard with shampoo and condition that's meant for your head. This can have varied results but for the most part it doesn't really work and if you believe the literature (yes there is lots of beard related advice online) its not very good for your beard and may even damage it.

By My Beard Shampoo and Conditioner & Face Moisturiser really do need to be used together to get the full effect. I did try them on separate occasions but they weren't nearly as effective.

By My Beard Shampoo and beard Conditioner & Face Moisturiser LabelsThey both have a slightly indistinct scent that I could only really describe as a manly musky smell. Its a pleasant smell and it doesn't linger for long, meaning you don't have to smell it all day which no matter how nice, would get a little tiresome. The Conditioner & Moisturiser has a nice tingly after effect, like tea tree oil but I didn't see it in the ingredients....

The main reason for these products is to stop your beard going wild in every direction and to keep it soft, which these do very effectively.

They both come in a handy push-down dispenser bottles and you only need one pump of each to get your beard all lathered up. These seem to have a compounding effect when used regularly, the first time I used them it did make a difference but over time my beard has gotten significantly softer and its general condition seems to be better.

Combining these with a beard oil (which you can buy as part of a set for under £6) and a regular combing has exactly the effect I was after. While I am sure there are better products out there if your willing to cough up more monies, this makes for an inexpensive option. Both come in a 300ml bottle which I have been using for a few weeks and I'm barely an eighth of the way through each bottle.

I'm not too proud to admit that a lot of my enjoyment of these products came from bursting into rooms in my house and announcing "By My beard!". I think that beard care is important if your going to allow your face to be occupied, but spending a fortune doesn't appear to be necessary. Apparently these products are Vegan friendly, in case your beard isn't carnivorous!

Summarise!

By My Beard Shampoo and Conditioner & Face Moisturiser are a great addition to your grooming set up and for the best results I have found using them 3-4 times a week to be very effective at keeping my beard soft and easy to manage.
