Rockstar Limited Edition Beach Blend Energy

Can of Rockstar Beach Blend Energy Drink

I am wondering whether the latest limited edition flavour “Beach Blend” is just coincidentally coinciding with the release of the Baywatch movie and Rockstar’s subsequent promotion, probably not. Energy Drinks seem to be following a trend in getting sponsorship and sponsoring things and then releasing flavours specific to them e.g. Lewis Hamilton 44 (Click here for review).

Anyway, when we first saw Beach Blend Majestic Beardsman pointed out that at a glance the name looks like bleach blend, mmmm… Bleach. I have consumed one and I’m still alive so no worries there.

Beach Blend would sensibly be flavoured like tropical fruits like pineapple, mango or even coconut and banana, because these flavours make you think of hot climates and beaches. This is confusingly not the case. This is yet again a flavour that doesn’t really taste like anything, other than other energy drinks. It’s sort of similar to some of the fruit punch flavours but I couldn’t nail it down.

These kinds of indescribably flavours are not necessarily a problem, other than it makes them hard to talk about. It tastes fruity…. What fruits you say? No idea. It’s not unpleasant and is actually one of the best new flavours I have tried so all I can really say is try one and you might like it. If you’re a fan of Monster Khaos or the Red/Orange Monster Ultra’s you probably going to like it.

As far as energy goes, it’s a little on the sweet side so doesn’t leave you hugely refreshed but packs all the usual energy drink punch you will need so no worries there.

On a side note, it occurs to me that I haven’t come across an Energy Drink that is half caffeine, as in “half the caffeine but all the flavour” etc. I know several people who often complain they need energy but don’t want an energy drink because they will starting bouncing off the walls for 20 minutes and then slump in the corner for an hour. Arguably they could just drink half the amount, but the same could be said of any reduced fat/sugar product. Want it to be sugar and fat free; you could just have a salad and a glass of water…

Summarise

It’s OK but nothing special, I would try one because it is nice, but I can’t imagine anyone being mortified when its limited run is over.
