Marvels Luke Cage Season 2 - Netflix Review

So, Luke Cage is back after the Defenders and it seems he has pick back up exactly where he left off. For my review of Season 1 click HERE or of the Defenders click HERE.

The first season left me wondering what exactly was next for Luke Cage, would he just keep fighting away superhuman invaders of Harlem? It turns out I was right however they did it brilliantly, it seems as though they learnt every lesson the first season had to offer and polished it off.

I won't give away any spoilers, but they seem to have understood that they needed to make Luke more 3 dimensional rather than just a really really good guy and so we get to see a whole new darker layer of the defender of Harlem.

There is a new bad guy on the scene and as the Netflix series know how to do, hes not just a super evil guy hell bent on world domination but a person with a realist motivation. I guess he had to be super-powered or he wouldn't pose much of a threat to Luke but it wasn't really the main focus.

My favourite part by far is Mariah Stokes who is flawlessly played by Alfre Woodard and the dynamic between her and Shades is fantastic throughout. I could see myself watching a series about the two of them. The addition of Foggy made me very happy as he is my favourite character in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The ending was an absolute twist and I had to re-watch the last half of the final episode just to make sure I understood what was being said.

Summarise!

Overall, this is an absolutely cracking series, a clear improvement on the first season which in my opinion was damn good. The music (while not my usual tipple) is excellent and its characters keep you wanting more.

4.5/5 Slices

  2. Numerically, to devour all the substance of Netflix, one human life is not adequate. A sub branch of this recommendation is the crazy measure of cash that Netflix made from the last quarter of 2016-$2158 million.moviebox for pc
